Eyebrow Waxing and Shaping in West Palm Beach

Waxing is the quick one. If you have a lot of fine hair around the brow, or you're tired of tweezing strays in the car mirror, one pass with wax clears it and leaves a clean edge. Brow waxing is $20.

Here's what happens in the chair:

We map your shape first, before any wax touches your skin.
Warm wax goes on in small sections so the line stays where we drew it.
Whatever the wax missed gets tweezed.
A soothing balm calms the skin.

The whole thing takes about fifteen minutes, so plenty of people squeeze it in on a lunch break from Downtown or Northwood Village. Most come back every three to four weeks.

Eyebrow Threading in West Palm Beach

Threading is for people who want the most control. A twisted thread lifts the hair out line by line, so the edge is sharp and the skin around it barely reacts. That makes it a good fit if brow waxing has ever left you red or puffy. Eyebrow threading is $25.

Frequently Asked Questions

Threading or waxing: which one is better for my brows?

It depends on your hair and your skin. Threading gives the sharpest line and tends to be easier on sensitive skin, and it's $25. Waxing is quicker and handles a lot of fine hair at once, and it's $20. Tell us what bugs you about your brows and we'll point you to the one that fits. We'll say so if it's waxing, even though it's the cheaper one.

Does threading hurt more than waxing?

Most people feel quick little pinches along the brow, and not much else. Threading usually leaves less redness behind than waxing does, which is why people with sensitive or acne-prone skin often prefer it. If you've never had it done, tell DeDe and she'll go slowly on the first pass.

How often do I need to come back?

Threading results usually hold for four to five weeks. Brow waxing is closer to every three to four weeks. A regular schedule keeps the regrowth soft and the visits short, and a quick touch-up is cheaper than rescuing a brow that's grown out.

Can I get my brows waxed if I use retinoids or acne medication?

Be careful here. The American Academy of Dermatology says not to wax while taking isotretinoin, within six months of finishing it, while using a prescription antibiotic or tretinoin, because these medications thin the skin and it can tear when the wax comes off. Tell us what you use when you book. The same page lists no such warning for threading, but check with your dermatologist first. Read the AAD guide.

What does brow tinting do, and will it look fake?

A tint darkens the hairs you already have, so a light, sparse or graying brow looks fuller without a pencil. We match the shade to your hair color, not to a photo, so it reads as your own brow on a good day. It's $15 and most people add it to a wax or thread visit.

What does a lash lift and tint actually do?

I over-plucked my brows years ago. Can you fix them?

We can't make hair grow where there isn't any, and we won't pretend otherwise. What we can do is shape around what you have, leave in anything that's trying to fill in, and use a tint to make sparse spots look fuller. Bring a photo of the brow you want and we'll tell you honestly how close we can get.

Do I need an appointment, and where do I park?

Walk-ins are welcome and we do our best to fit you in. If you want a certain time, day or person, book ahead. We're at 870 N Military Trail, just south of Belvedere Road on the east side, in the Golf View Shopping Plaza, with free parking at the door.
